One of its distinguishing features is its multidisciplinary approach, both in the breadth of its training content (delivered by lecturers from 13 different areas of knowledge, ranging from chemical engineering to social psychology, and the different branches of chemistry) and in the diversity of entry profiles, s the programme attracts students from a wide range of engineering and science backgrounds.
It is one of the most traditional MSc programmes at USC and among Spanish universities, having been launched in the 2006-07 academic year. Nevertheless, it undergoes regular review and updating to ensure advanced training in emerging disciplines, higher-quality teaching, better alignmentwith labour market needs, and the promotion of innovation and research. Its most recent curriculum update was implemented in the 2022-23 academic year.
